Chapter Fifteen

On page 158, Fir mentions that Lady Aspen has been making "the king's drafts herself."  Based on the context, what do you think drafts are and why?

  1. I believe a 'draft' is some type of alcohol or drink because Fir said that the King threw one at him and referred to it as a drink. Also, Padra acted like it wasn't important so it probably is alcohol. In real life, there is something like 'draft beer' that is some type of beer that people acually drink.

  2. I think drafts is a warm drink because it says that "the king drinks them gladly" and Aspen started making them after the Prince and Queen died. so they would probably make him feel better.

  3. I think that a draft is some kind of alcohol or medication that makes you drunk, and then pass out.

  5. I think a draft is some type of drink that can mess you up in some sort of way. That's why Lady Aspen gave the king it so he can sort of forget that Tumble and the queen died.

  6. I think a draft is an alcoholic beverage because the king has been drinking a lot of wine, and the book said he drank it.
