Chapter Sixteen

It seems as though Padra doing such a good job managing the food supplies had an unintended and negative consequence for the animals of Mistmantle.  What was that consequence?  Please use examples from the text.

  1. The consequence was that they are working even longer since they have more energy, but now they aren't getting enough sleep. Needle said that the animals making the Threadings are messing up because they are tired.

  2. I think that the consequence is that the workers aren't getting enough sleep so they don't have enough energy to work as well. Needle said they are tired so they are messing up.

  3. I think the consequence is that the workers aren't getting enough sleep so they don't have enough energy to work so people are messing up on their work, too. It said they desperately want to finish the threading.

  4. I think the consequence is that the animals can't get enough sleep so their work quality is poor or worse than it was.

  5. The work qualities of the Island have dropped since Padra was in charge of the food because everyone seems to be more tired than usual and the things that usually benefit the Island that are made by the animals are being made poorly.

  6. I don't think so, Diego. I think they are still the same. But instead of the animals being too weak, they are too tired.
